Technology enhanced vision in blind and visually impaired individuals

The 22nd of September a conference will be held as a part of the research project Technology enhanced vision in blind and visually impaired individuals. This research project is established as ground research in the humanities and neuroscience and investigates the potential of computer vision technology for blind and visually impaired individuals in their everyday life. The aim of the project is to use these insights to develop and test a rough prototype app using Google Tango as a platform. The app will help blind and visually impaired people navigate as a supplement to the white cane.

The conference will be held in collaboration with IBOS (Instituttet for Blinde og Svagsynede). The conference will take place on IBOS the 22nd of September from 10 AM to 5 PM. At the conference, the research project will be presented as well as presentations from other researchers and practitioners on the area.

Registration to the conference will take place on IBOS’ website, where the program furthermore can be found.
