CEO activism – a new tendency
CEO communication is challenged by an increased pressure from stakeholders, customers and employees as well as an increased amount of communication channels with deadlines 24-7.
A new tendency in this challenging landscape is CEO activism where the CEO engages in matters far beyond the borders of the organization, for instance migration, inequality, gender issues and others. In these cases, the CEO puts forward more personal opinions in the public debate on topics more connected to values that to the CEO’s organization.
Our research project 'CEO Communication and the Future Communications Advisor' – a part of the Communication Consultancy project – focuses on this development and the opportunities and risks it carries along.
